About Us

The Discovery Centre initiative is a partnership project between YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Uganda and the U.K. registered charity Adventure Projects Trust.

It was established in 1994 as a response to the dire situation in regard to AIDS at the time, providing AIDS prevention education to young people through the medium of sports and recreational activities.

Since that time its activities have greatly expanded. Much work is still done with local youth, providing sports facilities, training, mentoring, teaching life skills and supporting Scripture Union groups in schools.

Due to its superb location D.C. has become a popular venue for conferences and meetings, it also attracts many groups both locally and internationally.

In recent years strong links have developed with schools in Uganda and the U.K. These have been enhanced through the Education Centre and newly built Media Centre, with its recording studio and video production facility.
